In order to register the brand name/trade mark in China, you need to register through an authorized agent (licensed by China Trade Mark and Patent Bureau).

The Trade Mark registration process in China and cost are as follows;
1. China Trade Mark and Patent Bureau charge RMB 3,000 per Trade Mark application (which can be combined with Logo, Name of Brand in English and/or Chinese). We suggest the Trade Mark to be registered same as the way you are going to use for the brand in the future. If you separate the Logo, English Brand or Chinese Brand name, will be consider as a different application and require another RMB 3,000 per application. RMB 3,000 approx. USD $400.

2. There are 20 items/categories that can be checked per application, such as suits, sweaters, shirts, etc. Any additional items need to pay RMB 100 per item, such as belts, luggage, jewelry, etc.

3. The Trade Mark approval process needs around 18-24 months. The China Trade Mark and Patent Bureau will issue a receipt for the application within 3 months after submitted, which will provide you with the right to license the brand in China.

4. The Authorize Agent will charge RMB 8,000 (USD $1,000) for the application and monitoring for the whole 18-24 month process. Included in this cost are multiple combinations of a Trade Mark(English or Chinese) and log, if your application included multiples.

5. Brand/Trade Mark owner can be a foreign person or Corporation. They need to sign a power of attorney to the Authorize Agent to apply the brand/trade mark in China.
